12 Buckets Announces New CEO, Welcoming Nicki McKenzie

Travis Fitch

There is an air of excitement at 12 Buckets as a new season of organisational growth and development emerges.

As outgoing CEO and founder of 12 Buckets, Travis Fitch, noted “Undoubtedly, we have been through one of the most challenging 12-18 month periods which resulted in my active engagement at an operations level diminishing considerably. To see the staff rise to the occasion and adapt to such swift and significant change has been inspiring and they should be congratulated for how they have, not merely kept the program running but, kept 12 Buckets growing.”

A series of conversations between Mr Fitch and the staff over the last six months has clarified some important changes that have occurred operationally and that will now be more accurately reflected in terminology and role identification. One such shift included the move of Mr Fitch to a Board role so as to focus more intently on overall strategic direction and public advocacy for 12 Buckets. The other change was the appointment of a new CEO responsible for the ongoing development, design and implementation of 12 Buckets’ programs.

New CEO Appointment Made

On Tuesday, 30 October 2018, the Board were thrilled to announce the appointment of a new CEO for 12 Buckets, Nicki McKenzie.

Mr Fitch remarked, “With extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector as well as leading and training teams, Nicki has already demonstrated over the last two years that she not only has a head for 12 Buckets but clearly a heart for all that 12 Buckets is wanting to contribute in the community. I am so thrilled to see Nicki step into this role.”

While the end of the year will certainly see aspects of 12 Buckets wind down for the year, Nicki is already anticipating promising developments in the future. “It is a privilege to take on the role of CEO and to work closely with the amazing team at 12 Buckets. The programs we offer are life changing to the children we walk alongside so in 2019 our focus is to raise the profile of 12 Buckets and to increase community support thereby strengthening the charity. Very exciting times ahead!” said the new CEO.
