Initiate Australia and 12 Buckets Join Forces

Travis Fitch

Initiate Australia and 12 Buckets are excited to announce a partnership that will see more children reach their full potential. A Cocktail Party will be held at Halo Espresso on March 24 to mark the beginning of this new venture and as a starting point for people to get involved.

Launching in Term 2, Initiate will be running the highly regarded 12 Buckets One-to-One Mentoring program at Curtin Primary School in Karawara, with further schools in the south also in view.

As an organisation solely funded by the community and corporate sector, 12 Buckets has dedicated the delivery of its program to schools in Perth's northern suburbs. With limited resources at hand, requests from schools in the southern suburbs to implement the 12 Buckets program have not been able to be fulfilled.

"Like any organisation, we need to maintain our sustainability - especially in such tight economic times," says Travis Fitch, CEO of 12 Buckets. "While we would love to see our unique program rolled out in as many places as possible, we want to make sure we can go the distance. This new partnership with Initiate Australia is one way this goal can be achieved."

Initiate Australia is an organisation committed to development with the world's poorest individuals, families and communities both within Australia and overseas. By investing in local initiatives, it empowers local individuals, families and communities to help alleviate poverty.

Josh Bond, CEO of Initiate Australia, and Travis Fitch anticipate that the cultural and strategic alignment between the charities will bring about a multiplied effect, for the benefit of the community, that will far outweigh what the two organisations could do alone.

"It's exciting to be able to collaborate with a social entrepreneur and change-maker such as Josh," says Travis. "The new possibilities we already have in the pipeline are going to be incredibly beneficial for both 12B and Initiate – but more importantly, this new alliance will serve to bring sustained help to local children who deserve every opportunity to flourish."

The ticket-only Cocktail Evening for Initiate Australia and 12 Buckets will be held on March 24 from 6.30pm-8.30pm at Halo Espresso. Tickets can be purchase here.
