There is much to celebrate in 2016 for 12 Buckets. Not least is the announcement of the 12 Buckets program being established in a new school. Boyare Primary School, located in Mirrabooka, is set to welcome the 12 Buckets program from Semester 2 of 2016.
Glenn Murray, Principal at Boyare Primary, said that he was at a recent Swan West Network meeting for school Principals where he heard a presentation by Travis Fitch, CEO of 12 Buckets, and Mr Murray loved it.
"As Travis spoke, I was thinking, 'This is made for Boyare!' I also grew up in Nollamara and went to Mirrabooka High School, so I’m a local boy as well as Principal," Mr Murray said.
With approximately 400 students at Boyare Primary School, Mr Fitch said that this latest roll-out of the 12 Buckets program will be the boldest yet.
"The school is double the size of a couple of our other schools, so there is no doubt we will have our work cut out for us. This isn't a bad thing at all, it is such an exciting opportunity! As soon as I met with Mr Murray and one of his school's Deputies, Mary Brunini, I left with the unshakeable sense that the cultural congruence between Boyare and 12 Buckets is without doubt," Mr Fitch said.
12 Buckets will be looking for new volunteer mentors to join the mentoring team at Boyare Primary. To find out more about mentoring, simply head to the mentoring pages on the 12 Buckets website.
