At the 12 Buckets AGM on Monday 7 September 2015, we were thrilled to appoint Helen Bathurst to the 12 Buckets Board.
A Partner with PwC, Helen brings with her a distinctive sense of compassion along with a depth of experience and expertise in financial accounting, compliance and strategic direction.
Helen has worked with a diverse range of companies from property to education and logistics. She has previously worked in the not-for-profit sector with major charities including the Royal National Institute for the Blind, the Prostrate Cancer Foundation as well as smaller charities such as Magic Breakfast, a program delivering healthy breakfast to children in Central London's low income schools. She is married to Darren and they have a two-year-old daughter.
In responding to questions about why she decided to join the Board, Helen says:
I was attracted to 12 Buckets from first hearing about them, particularly the foundation of generosity and building on the strengths of the children, an approach very close to my values.
Helen then met with CEO Travis Fitch, and heard first hand the success stories of children who had the support of 12 Buckets.
I was well and truly convinced this was the organisation for me to give my time and skills to, one where I felt I could really help.
She adds that she is thoroughly enjoying working with Travis and the 12 Buckets Board.
The strategic direction of the organisation is very exciting, and with the energy and passion of Travis and his team, I am sure we will achieve many great things still to come.
We look forward to having Helen aboard, and appreciate all that she brings to 12 Buckets.
