Oh what a night! For those of you who were there, you don't need us to tell you what a fabulous evening Bassendean on the Green was. The event was a sell-out, and the money raised will go a long way to funding and expanding our mentoring programs into a high school. This means that instead of saying goodbye to our mentees at the end of year 6, we will in the future have the capacity to follow them through high school and beyond.
But whether you were there or not, we thought you might enjoy a photographic snapshot of 12 Buckets' major fundraising event for 2015.
Held at a beautiful private residence on the banks of the Swan River, the photo below shows what the venue looked like two hours before sound check. Our thanks to Allannah Davin (Lanarae Photography) for the beautiful shots.
12 Buckets are grateful to sponsor, DownUnder GeoSolutions (DUG) , who really did make the evening possible. A number of their clients also attended, enjoying wine and canapés in the VIP area before joining the other guests on the Green.
When asked about DUG's involvement, Managing Director, Matthew Lamont, said:
Thanks to 12 Buckets for inviting us to be part of Bassendean on the Green. What a wonderful way to entertain our clients for Christmas as well as giving back to such a worthy charity.
And, of course, we were all moved by the inspiring video about one of our 12 Buckets graduates. Caitlin, we are so very proud of you for sharing your story.
12 Buckets CEO, Travis Fitch had this to say about the organisation's biggest fundraising venture yet:
I was overwhelmed by the enjoyment level of people, along with the generosity of those who came - from performers to volunteers as well as those who came to listen to the concert. There were some volunteers who put in some extremely long hours over the weekend. One person gave more than 40 hours over three days.
There have been numerous requests to turn Bassendean on the Green into an annual event, so stay tuned ...
